Latest technology SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) interconnect provides simple plug and play setup, while parity RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks) prevents losing media because of a failed drive. Raw capacities range from 2.5TB to 16TB per editing system.

Based on the leading storage software for real time media production – the ISIS File System – ISIS 5000 provides the same real time media access, intelligent self-balancing data architecture, and predictable, linear scalability as the enterprise ISIS 7000 (formerly Unity ISIS) product range.

ISIS 5000 easily adapts to a variety of workflow environments, supporting Avid Media Composer, NewsCutter, Symphony, and DS editors as well as Apple Final Cut Pro . ISIS 5000 is extremely easy to use. Installation and network configuration software wizards combine to minimise set-up time and effort. The new ISIS 5000 Management Console simplifies user and storage management (including LDAP support) and its comprehensive yet intuitive monitoring and diagnostics have never before been available in this class of storage system. Facility fit is assured with a choice of capacity ranges that scale from 16 TB or 32 TB to 96 or 192 TB, and up to 90 switched client connections. Each ISIS 5000 Storage Engine houses sixteen 1 TB or 2 TB disk drives arrayed in three 4+1 RAID5 sets plus a hot spare drive. The ISIS 5000 Engine houses an ISIS System Director CPU that performs system metadata management. The System Director is protected with mirrored, field-replaceable system drives and if needed, operation can easily shift to the System Director in a different Engine. Depending on the model, four 1Gbit Ethernet ports or a 10Gbit Ethernet port provide connectivity to one or two external switches, or directly connect to four 1Gbit clients.

Avid ISIS 7000 is based on a highly scalable, self-balancing distributed architecture. Each storage blade includes its own processor, so when you add capacity, you also add intelligent processing power.
  • Client scalability. With the tested and proven ability to scale up to 330 real-time clients, you can rely on Avid ISIS 7000 as your workflow or facility grows. From editors to loggers, journalists and producers, your valuable media assets are now easily accessible to users across the enterprise.
  • Asset scalability. Avid ISIS 7000 expands to 384TB raw capacity, or 288TB useable with ISIS RAID 6 data protection. This is enough to store up to 625 hours of uncompressed HD, or 12,500 hours of 50 Mb/s compressed HD.
  • Gateway access. For non-real time storage needs such as graphics, stills, text or low-res video, any Windows, Mac, or Linux workstation can access and use ISIS storage through the ISIS File Gateway.

The Avid ISIS 7000 Engine is a unique blade-based storage and networking subsystem featuring intelligent dual-drive storage elements, integrated Ethernet switching, and redundant power and cooling.
